What is Taiko?
Taiko is a ZK-Rollup that aims to scale Ethereum in a manner that emulates Ethereum as closely as possible – both technically and non-technically – by supporting all ZK-EVM opcodes in a layer-2 architecture that is decentralized, permissionless, and secure. Vitalik Buterin called the development of Taiko “Fascinating Work”.

This means that Taiko can run any smart contract or ÐApp that runs on Ethereum without any changes or compromises. Taiko also leverages zero-knowledge proofs to ensure data availability and validity of transactions on the Testnet.
Taiko's native token is $TKO, which is used for paying transaction fees, staking, governance, and other functions on the network. $TKO is not yet available on the market, but you can earn some by participating in the Testnet and contributing to the project.
How to Claim Taiko Alpha-1 Testnet Airdrop?
To claim the Taiko Alpha-1 Testnet airdrop and earn a POAP, you need to follow these steps:
- Visit the Taiko Alpha-1 Testnet airdrop page on AirdropAlert.com and read the details of the campaign.
- See the instructions by jumping right in with the Testnet Guide.
- Add Taiko A1 & Ethereum A1 networks to your Testing wallet. You can use MetaMask or any other wallet that supports custom RPC networks.

- Earn a POAP by using your wallet to complete any 2 of the 3 following actions by January 31st at 23:59 UTC:
- Bridge $ETH and $HORSE between Ethereum A1 and Taiko A1 on Bridge.A1.Taiko.xyz. You can bridge any amount of ETH or HORSE tokens between the two networks.
- Interact with a contract (e.g., interact with a ÐApp, deploy a contract). You can use any smart contract or ÐApp that runs on Ethereum without any changes on Taiko A1.
